Within the first few weeks of the semester when we were deciding on what we wanted our project to be and developing our initial ideas, we were tasked to complete a creative action toolkit. The idea behind this was to section our idea and do some in-depth brainstorming to create a project that could last from the semester.
The toolkit is separated into five sections:
- Set the goal
- Build
- Seek and understand
- Imagine
- Make
Below you can view screenshots of the different sections that I filled for my project Yoku. Each section is filled with initial research articles and evaluates questions about the topic.
I found this workshop helpful as I was able to make notes about what I wanted to research within this project. I also found it easier to ask questions to my future self to assist in my evaluation of the topic and get familiar with different researchers’ views and opinions.
I will use this workshop again within my design thinking process to further my initial brainstorming when trying to view my project from different perspectives. Therefore creating a more aware and well-rounded project.
